AN HONEST AND SIMPLE TRUTH ABOUT CODING FROM SCRATCH
You are going to need to be able to do two things.
Sit and Focus.
Type your ass off.
I know for someone already seasoned at coding, this is not even a thought.
But honestly…
I was that dumb.
And if I was that dumb…someone else looking up at the tech world and wanting to jump in might be in that same position.
So for now…I want to be honest and just let you know you have to know your way around a keyboard.
And if you’re not the type of person that can nail a task for hours on end, you have to transform yourself into that person.
I’m going to assume you’re not a paid subscriber, so just to give you some game…
You need to get clean as fuck. (So you can sit and focus.)
You don’t want to be the stereotype of person who codes with Cheeto dust on your fingers and an extra 150 lbs of body fat keeping you glued to the chair.
You want to the the ultra focused person with the ability to be comfortable, even happy, when doing the work.
That’s huge.
I will tell you I had to quit fucking EVERYTHING.
Vaping.
Weed.
Booze.
Porn.
Binge watching.
Video games.
Shitty relationships.
Fuck…I even tried to have bread yesterday and I got so healthy that my body had an inflammation reaction to it.
So…processed carbs are out for me as well.
I AM going to be that asshole and tell you that you either have to figure that shit out yourself…or you need to sign up for the paid subscription for at least a month so you can see what I am talking about. Plus I’ll be available on the chat so you can ask whatever you want.
Anyway…get clean.
Learn to Type.
You decide how fast you want to go, really.
You can take out 15 minutes a day if you already have shit to do.
Or if you have the luxury of time…you can just go hard and get great in like 3 months.

This is a FREE site (with paid options) where you can learn to type. This is great because you need the fundamentals and, when it comes to coding, you’ll have to get good at symbols and numbers as well. I am still working on the latter.

It’s a space invaders type shooter game where little alien ships come to attack you. Each one is attached with a word and you type the word in order to shoot it down. Super fun and it’s been around forever. It’s a classic.

I am fucking obsessed with this one. It’s straight forward. You get a little car on a drag strip and you race against other live players online. There’s some text on the bottom, and all you need to do is type. As you gain XP, you get money to buy other cars and cool features.
The only downsides with the games is the lack of number and character practice. So you’ll have to stick to the typing lessons for that. But with these three games alone you will get fast.
I used to be the finger poking typist and now I have hit upwards of 80 WPM with my average being 65 WPM.
To be honest, once you’re somewhere in the 45-50 WPM range, you can start getting into code. The rest will fall into place from there.
Much apologies for the slow startup on these sessions, but mind you I am Noob Weight category and you will basically be learning along with me. This is one of the few times I will be playing the ‘make content from your journey’ game.
Plus it will be the first time I am gamifying something so I’m just kind of having fun with it.
